Chrome Hearts, Lyrics and Line Drawings: The Art Behind Our Designs
Every AURORA design in our store starts with something from her world: an album, a lyric or a drawing. Here is what is printed on them, and why.
What is the chrome heart?
What Happened to the Heart? came out in 2024, and its cover shows her hand holding a shining metal heart. Our What Happened to the Heart Chrome design wraps the album title in melting chrome letters around that heart, and Chrome Heart keeps just the heart and its flourishes. Both carry a big chrome A on the back.
Which albums and songs show up?
The Gods We Can Touch. Her 2022 album, whose songs draw on Greek mythology, in flowing lilac-grey lettering.
Exist for Love. Her 2020 single, the one she called her first love song, with a framed portrait in gold.
"The Seed". You Cannot Eat Money puts the heart of her 2019 song about protecting nature in heavy red capitals.
"Apple Tree". Let Her Save the World stacks the chorus of another 2019 song in bold white type.
What about the drawings?
Line art. Line Figure is one unbroken indigo line, and Anatomical Heart traces every vessel above her name.
Sketches. Sun Face, Eye Eye and Mask are hand-drawn, gentle and a little strange.
Night creatures. Moth sets a stippled white moth under hand-drawn capitals.
And the photos?
Red Triptych and Red Curtain Portrait bring in her red-velvet photos, and Take a Bite puts a glossy blue apple under her name in chrome.
Which ones are two-sided?
What Happened to the Heart Chrome, Chrome Heart and Red Curtain Portrait are printed on the front and the back. Every other design is front only.
